iDeMa: from rhetoric to computer engineering

The name iDeMa was chosen by analogy with the 5 stages of Greco-Latin rhetoric, the definition of which is generally attributed to Quintilian, a litigator and head of the rhetoric chair during the reign of the Roman emperor Vespasian (1st century AD) - source Wikipedia.

Quintilian distinguished as follows:

  1. Inventio or invention which consists of the search for ideas and the collection of information.
  2. Dispositio or disposition, which consists in structuring the discourse.
  3. Elocutio or work on style and figures of speech.
  4. Memoria: rote learning of speech and mnemonics.
  5. Actio: recitation of the speech.

We have seen in this definition a certain analogy with the activities of our company:

  1. Identify the needs.
  2. Develop or "design" the solution.
  3. Evaluate the solution through an effective recipe, conducted in conjunction with the teams.
  4. Put in place a sustainable organization and the right tools to facilitate the deployment and success of the project in the long term .
  5. Accompany the project (support and maintenance) and remain available for business evolution requests.
